Three years ago I quit my analytics job at a Fortune 500 company to travel full-time. The plan was simple: work remotely, explore every major US city, and figure out where the real value is — not what tourist brochures tell you.

Turns out, the same skills I used to optimize marketing funnels work just as well for finding $35/night hotels that don't feel like $35/night hotels, or figuring out which "must-see" attractions are actually worth the admission price.

I've visited 40+ US cities while keeping a full-time remote job. Every guide I write comes from boots-on-the-ground experience, backed by the data I obsessively collect — prices, ratings, transit times, cost breakdowns. No fluff, no filler, just what you need to plan a better trip for less money.

Why TravelPlan?

Most travel sites either regurgitate the same generic advice or bury useful info under walls of affiliate links. TravelPlan is different:

  • Data-driven recommendations. I compare prices, ratings, and real visitor feedback before recommending anything.
  • Tested personally. Every city guide is based on my own visits. If I haven't been there, I don't write about it.
  • Budget-first mindset. I optimize for cost-to-value ratio, not luxury. Great experiences shouldn't require a great budget.
  • No fluff. Actionable info — costs, hours, transit options, and honest takes on what to skip.
